So this page is written plainly, with the uncomfortable parts left in. If anything here is not what you expected, do not connect a mailbox.
This is the agreement between you and Digital Hank. It is written to be read, because an agreement nobody reads protects nobody. Where something matters, it is said plainly rather than buried.
1. What Hank is
Hank is an assistant that reads the mailboxes and calendars you connect, tells you what needs you, and does work on your instruction — drafting replies, filing documents, keeping lists, arranging meetings.
Hank is not a person, a lawyer, an accountant or a financial adviser. It does not give professional advice, and nothing it produces is a substitute for your own judgement. You remain responsible for the work that goes out under your name.
2. Nothing leaves without your word
Hank drafts; you send. Replies, invitations and anything else addressed to another person wait in your Outbox until you approve them. Hank will not send outward communication on your behalf without that approval, and we will not change that quietly — if it ever becomes possible to authorise standing permissions, it will be something you switch on deliberately.
Work Hank does inside your own account — filing a document, adding to a list, arranging your diary — happens on your instruction and is reversible by you.
3. Your account
- You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must give accurate details.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anyone you let use it.
- You must have the right to connect the mailboxes and calendars you connect. If an account belongs to an employer or a client, get their permission first.
- Keep your sign-in secure and tell us promptly if you think it has been compromised.
4. What you must not use Hank for
- Anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
- Sending bulk unsolicited mail, or any use that would put our sending reputation at risk.
- Attempting to break, overload, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service.
- Connecting a mailbox you are not entitled to read.
We may suspend an account that is doing any of these, and will tell you why.
5. Your content stays yours
Your mail, documents, contacts and everything Hank builds from them remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to receive, store, process and display that content, and to have our infrastructure providers do the same on our behalf.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your content to train models for anyone else. What Hank holds and for how long is set out in the privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.
6. Trial, price and payment
- Hank is free for 30 days, with no card required.
- After that it is a monthly subscription at the price shown on the pricing page, charged in advance and renewing each month until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not refund the current month, and your access runs to the end of the period you paid for.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- If we change the price we will tell you at least 30 days beforehand, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
7. Availability
We work to keep Hank running and will give notice of planned maintenance where we can. We do not promise uninterrupted service, and parts of Hank depend on providers we do not control — your mail provider, your calendar, the model that does the reasoning. When one of those is down, the affected part of Hank is down.
8. When Hank gets something wrong
Hank makes judgements about your mail, and judgements can be wrong. It can misread a document, misjudge what matters, or draft something you would not have written. Check anything that carries weight before you act on it or send it.
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided as it is, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of business. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending it
You can stop at any time: cancel the subscription, or delete your account from Settings. Deleting your account removes what Hank holds — the detail is in the privacy notice.
We may end or suspend your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue it, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export what is yours.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you before it takes effect, and continuing to use Hank after that means you accept it. The date at the top always shows when this was last changed.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction. If any part of this agreement is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
